open house dublin 2011

Open House Dublin is a perfect weekend to discover the best about Dublin's architecture history, it is Ireland's biggest Architecture Festival.   I missed it last year, so I was really looking forward to it last weekend : 2 days to get in all the buildings we want, for FREE !  Special thanks to Karine who joined me for this festival; we really had a good time running throughout the city to attend free tours and visit buildings.   What's next ? oh yeah, pics... london in black and white

Last weekend I've been invited to spend some time in the beautiful city of Queen Elizabeth II. I was really looking forward to it as I hadn't touched down in London in more than a year and a half.  London is such a beautiful city, so alive and creative, and when your tour guide is a great friend, it's a most ! Besides, it's just the country next door so you can get there in no time.   The weather wasn't spectacular = dry but very grey... so I thought it would the opportunity for me to try myself at... Canon EOS 50D, EF-S 18-55mm, f/5.6, 1/1600 sec, 55mm, ISO 100   I have been playing around with my camera these days at night time, and I realised how important is the light in photography and what you can do with it, mess with it, deform it, and use it to make your pictures more "unique" !   I've tried a few things : long exposure with or without flash, with or without a tripod, and so on... I also shot at a very fast shutter speed to capture water drops hitting the ground and get this "splash" effect so popular... [Lire la suite]

trying, discovering, learning...

This is more or less what my last time out with my camera was all about. After my first attempt, I posted few pics on forums, and got critics from friends and family which really helped me figure out what was good, what was not and what was to improve... So I want to thank you all (and specially daddy ^^) for all your feedbacks, keep them coming !   So here it is, my second attempt, still in the learning process, but I think/hope there's improvement !  All the below pics have been taken...
