Moments can last forever...

fiat lux (and then there was light)

Canon EOS 50D, EF-S 18-55mm, f/5.6, 1/1600 sec, 55mm, ISO 100

I have been playing around with my camera these days at night time, and I realised how important is the light in photography and what you can do with it, mess with it, deform it, and use it to make your pictures more "unique" !

I've tried a few things : long exposure with or without flash, with or without a tripod, and so on... I also shot at a very fast shutter speed to capture water drops hitting the ground and get this "splash" effect so popular ! (see it here and here)
Even if I still have to improve my technique, I was very happy to be able to adjust my camera the right way as I begin to know how to use properly the manual modes, or at least I understand the basis of it now and I see all the potential it can offer.

So here it is, few pics of nights scenes and light "painting" :

Canon EOS 50D, EF-S 18-55mm, f/8.0, 13 sec, 27mm, ISO 100

Canon EOS 50D, EF-S 18-55mm, f/11.0, 8 sec, 27mm, ISO 100

Canon EOS 50D, EF-S 18-55mm, f/4.0, 1/60 sec, 18mm, ISO 100

Canon EOS 50D, EF-S 18-55mm, f/14.0, 8 sec, 28mm, ISO 100
